Another Reason to Get Moving!
Snow is beautiful to look at and fun to play in, but for commuters, we all know, snow is slow. For commuters, typically on a day with heavy snowfall, I would say, stay home. However, there are important tasks to accomplish outdoors, such as clearing your vehicle and driveway or forcing an effortful walk to transit or the store.
Whatever the necessity, snow provides a means for greater use of our bodies. We can benefit from increased oxygen to our brains and muscles (McNealus, 2015). A light workout for some, and more laborious for those who really put their backs into moving the white stuff. If you can avoid it altogether and make it to work, there is hope for you yet. All the local fitness clubs are offering membership incentives and trials, as with Goodlife for 3 free days (Goodlife, 2015), supporting your New Year’s resolution of getting active. The era of quick recovery and near-invincibility has passed for working adults. It is important for us to embrace opportunities in movement and exercise. McNealus also reminds us that endorphins increase mood (2015); this will have a spill-over effect in all areas of our lives.
If you aren’t engaging in any of the aforementioned activities, take an encouraging stroll at lunch or after work. No matter how tired we feel, exercise will always promote an increase in energy to our bodies.

Our new location at 9730 Dufferin Street, Unit 2 is in the Ivy Glen Plaza right next to the Nail place (the plaza with Teresa's Ristorante).
The plaza is located north of Rutherford, but south of Major Mackenzie, and is a 10-15 minute drive from our former Yonge Street location. We are now on the main floor, and there is plenty of parking.
Sylvia began working on Centre Street and Yonge Street in 2004 (in our previous location), Chris followed soon after in 2005 and Yonge & Wellness was launched April 1st, 2008. Yonge & Wellness has grown to 7 massage therapists and 2 chiropractors; offering massage therapy and acupuncture (including a registered acupuncturist), chiropractic care, and customized orthotics.
